Abstract
For several years, Mortimer Jordan High School has needed a placement procedure for its ninth-grade mathematics courses. Many students want to take algebra, when they should take another mathematics course. There are several alternatives to taking Algebra I. In the ninth grade, students may take General Mathematics or Algebra I.
