Abstract
This study attempts to explore the possible causal role of various types of expectancies in the behavior therapy technique of systematic desensitization. Researchers have long theorized that a person’s perception of the consequences of a given behavior (response-outcome expectancies) plays an important part in determining that behavior (Bandura, 1969).
