Abstract
This thesis contains the solution for the stress distribution and deflection in a flat circular plate with a circular hole under action of uniformly distributed radial bending moments applied over discrete zones at the outer boundary in an evenly spaced fashion. The solution was obtained from small-deflection plate theory as developed by LaGrange with the use of the boundary conditions formulated by Kirchhoff. A Fourier Series was used to represent the applied bending moments at the outer boundary.
