Abstract
Malpractice suits have been filed against physicians with increasing frequency in recent years. While many different reasons for the increase have been given, among those suggested is that physicians in general are not knowledgeable about medical jurisprudence to the degree they are able to prevent legal action being taken against them. If this is so, then there is an implication of a need to educate prospective and practicing physicians in the subject of medical jurisprudence.
