Abstract

The oxidations of o-diphenols to corresponding o-quinones are known to be important reactions in some biological, industrial, and pollution studies. Proton magnetic resonance (pmr) and optical [visible (vis) and ultraviolet (uv)) spectroscopy are often the techniques of choice for studying the reaction. They require a knowledge of pmr and optical spectral parameters. The studies in Part I were carried out to obtain the spectral parameters for future studies.
