About Institutional Repositories
The intent of all Institutional Repositories (IRs) is to bring a University's research or creative activity together under one umbrella, to preserve and provide enduring access to the products of its research.
Consider submitting your work. Open access environments like the UAB Digital Commons can host a variety of research-related items, which may include conference presentations and papers, open access versions of published articles, working papers, technical reports, and other work. Accessibility Statement
UAB Digital Commons serves as one of the institutional repository platforms at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. It provides access to a wide range of digital content in a variety of formats. Because we do include archival materials that were digitized from physical and analog sources, these materials may be formatted in ways that make them difficult to use with adaptive or assistive technology like as screen readers. The University of Alabama at Birmingham Libraries are committed to making the UAB Digital Commons as broadly accessible as possible, and to ensuring that access to its content is consistent with obligations under state and federal disabilities law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Wherever feasible we have aimed to make the content of the Repository accessible to all potential users through implementing features such as:
- Adding captioning to audio and video content
- Transcribing and/or applying optical character recognition (OCR) for PDF or other documents
- Providing HTML or other alternate versions that may be more accessible than existing PDF versions
If you encounter any accessibility-related issues with materials in the Repository or the user interface, please contact us at LIB-repository@uab.edu so we might work with you to find a solution.
