The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) STEM librarian for engineering & chemistry has spent the last year creating a series of monthly patent coloring books. The intention for these coloring books was to bring attention to the inventions of members of the academic community of Alabama – specifically members of UAB. While this project was originally initiated to highlight UAB academic work, the series quickly expanded to other interesting and historically relevant topics. Some of the other topics addressed include the work of Alabamian inventors, including early women Alabamian inventors and inventors from Birmingham, AL, and issues highlighting important events and projects happening at the UAB Libraries.
